Ramkhamhaeng University boasts to be Thailand’s largest university with an enrollment exceeding 435,000 students annually, (source) broken into approximately 400,000 undergraduate and 35,000 graduate level. There are three programs available, namely Thai, English, and Chinese. Overall, there are 62 undergraduate and 67 graduate programs. Additionally, there are four graduate diploma programs and thirteen Doctors of Philosophy programs.
Established in 1971, RU is an open admissions university with affordable tuition fees and low-weighted-attendance-high-weighted-exam policy, attracting domestic students on meager earnings and/or with part-full time jobs who may not be able to attend classes regularly.
Its prime campus is on Ramkhamhaeng road of Eastern Bangkok, having established 22 regional campuses and 36 regional examination centers throughout Thailand, as well as 36 international examination centers in 27 countries worldwide.
Domestic campuses are located in Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Sukhothai, Phetchabun, Uthai Thani,Chiang Rai, Phetchabun, Phrae, Amnat Charoen, Chaiyaphum, Buriram, Khon Kaen, Nakhon Ratcchasima (Korat), Nakhon Phanom, Nong Bua Lam Phu, Si Sa Ket, Surin, Udon Thani, Lopburi, Kanchanaburi, Prachhinburi, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phangnga, and Trang.
Examination centers are located in the above provinces as well as Phitsanulok, Amnart Charoen, Nan, Chaiyaphum, Roi Et, Sakhon Nakhon, Surin, Ubon Ratchathani, C hantaburi, Nakhon Sawan, Nakhon Pathom, Prachuap Kiri Khan, Suphanburi, Ratchaburi, Sa Kaeo, Chumporn, Surathani, and Songkhla.
Aside from the mentioned provinces, special academic programs are also available in Tak, Khampaeng Phet, Udon Thani, Nong Khai, Loei, Yasothon, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Rayong, Saraburi, Samut Songkhram, Samut Prakan, Samut Sakhon, Nonthaburi, Yala, Satun, Narathiwat, Phuket and Krabi.
