The Department of State is the primary authority for American foreign affairs and citizenship matters (not counting the US constitution which by principle is the foundation of the United States, and thus the first and final authority) and on this link is advice about the possibility of losing one’s American citizenship, which states that one act which one risks losing their American citizenship is by obtaining naturalization in a foreign state, if and only if coupled with the competent and openly declared intention of wishing to relinquish one’s citizenship.
